The Nano Nagle Charitable Trust
Was formed by the Presentation Sisters http://www.pbvm.org and Friends of Nano in 2009 to support children who are unable to attend a Catholic School because of financial hardship.
Over 285,000 children in New Zealand are living in poverty: that is they live in households earning less than 60% of the median New Zealand house-hold income.
Children attending Catholic Schools are not exempt from this deprivation and many parents are finding that they have to choose between buying food and paying for electricity or sending their children to a Catholic School.
The costs for a child to attend a Catholic School are significant: Some families are faced with considering having to withdraw their children from a Catholic school for financial reasons.
This impacts adversely on the child, the family and schools.
Over the past four years the Nano Nagle Trust has paid a total of $103,943 dollars to support children to attend Catholic Schools.
This year we expect more families to need our support.
Because of Covid 19 we have had to cancel our major fund-raising events.
We are very grateful for any donations that we receive.
What we fundAny education costs to support individual children to attend a Catholic School.

How are we fundedWe are totally reliant on fundraising and donations.
We pay approximately $30,000 annually to meet the demands of applications and we can do this only because of the generosity of our donors |
